Travel to the British Virgin Islands to help the Anegada Iguana (Cyclura pinguis)
Dates: Session 1: May 19-27 2013
Session 2: May 28-5 June, 2013
Session 3: July 9-17 2013
Where: Anegada, British Virgin Islands (BVI)
Cost: $1,375 for one session
Group size: Seven to 10 participants plus a project leader and assistant leader
The Fort Worth Zoo is seeking participants to provide support for its Anegada iguana conservation project.
As a participant you will:
• Learn field research methods such as distance sampling, mark-recapture, and GPS
• Assist in taking morphological data on iguanas in the headstart facility
• Set and maintain live traps daily to capture iguanas
• Assist in taking morphological data on any captured wildlife
• Assist researchers with camera-trapping surveys
• Conduct feral cat surveys
Cost Includes: 1 night on Tortola, BVI; 1 round-trip ferry ticket from Tortola to
Anegada; 7 nights on Anegada; meals on Anegada; field supplies; transportation
on Anegada; and all routine expenses on Anegada
Cost does NOT include: Airfare to Tortola, BVI; meals on Tortola; cab fare to and
from the airport

The Service-Learning Program at Indiana University, Bloomington is accepting applications for scholarships to fund IUB students who are participating in service-learning courses that take students outside of Indiana or outside of the United States. There are 5 scholarships worth $250 each to fund students doing service-learning projects domestically and 5 scholarships worth $500 each to fund students doing service-learning projects internationally.
To be eligible, students must be enrolled at the time of the scholarship award in a credit-bearing service-learning course offered through IUB. The application deadline is rolling until all 10 scholarships are awarded for the year.
Applications must include a letter of recommendation and proof of enrollment in the service-learning class. Please direct questions about the scholarship and application procedures to Andrew Libby, Community Engagement Coordinator, Service-Learning Program, firstname.lastname@example.org.
This scholarship is for IUB juniors with a 3.7 GPA who will be in their senior year at IUB during the 2013-2014 academic year. Danta: Association for Conservation of the Tropics is pleased to announce its 2013 field courses in tropical biology. Our courses are intended for undergraduates or early graduate level students who have a keen interest in tropical biology and conservation, but have little or no experience of working in a tropical environment.
