Mental Health America of Greater Indianapolis-Volunteers Needed

Mental Health America of Greater Indianapolis is currently in need of volunteers to staff our 24-hour Crisis & Suicide Intervention Service from the comfort of their own home. We are looking for individuals who are empathic and respectful, and who have an interest in helping others in a time of personal crisis and distress. Volunteers complete a 40-hour training program through Mental Health America of Greater Indianapolis and are certified to work as a volunteer “Clinical Associate,” answering phone calls and text messages through our Crisis and Suicide Intervention Service. Bilingual volunteers a plus, but not required.

Training: Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is conducted alongside crisis hotline training and other training topics, with time dedicated to administrative needs such as online call reporting and scheduling. Please refer to the upcoming training schedule on our website for dates and further information or contact us.
