I.U.’s Biology Outreach Program is looking for undergraduate volunteers to help us bring biology lessons to local elementary students during Spring Semester 2014. We have two programs – kindergarten and 3rd grade – that include a variety of experiments, demonstrations (including live animals!), crafts, etc. that help kids develop knowledge in and enthusiasm for science.
No experience or specific biology background is required – we will teach you what you need to know. We can also provide transportation to schools. Undergraduate volunteers need to be able to commit to a 2.5 hour visit about every other week – for a total of 4- 5 visits during the spring semester. They should also enjoy working with excited, enthusiastic children!
If you are interested in learning more about the 3rd grade program, please contact Leah Simoni, (firstname.lastname@example.org). If you are interested in potentially working with kindergartners, please contact Diane Pikaard (email@example.com).
