College of Arts and Sciences Scholarships!

Scholarships: We are now accepting applications for all of the College’s spring scholarship competitions. Specific information about the individual competitions and complete eligibility criteria are available on the College’s Scholarship and Awards page ( For consideration, all application materials must be received by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 7, 2014.


Award Amount Eligibility
David G. Albright Memorial Scholarship One award of $1,000 Current rising seniors with a major in the School of Global and International Studies (graduating May or August 2015) with demonstrated record of international passion and commitment.  Minimum 3.500 GPA in major at time of application.
Intensive Writing Essay Prize Up to six awards of $150 each Current IUB students who took IW courses in Summer or Fall 2013, or who are currently enrolled in IW courses (Spring 2014) may submit essays.
Palmer-Brandon Prize in the Humanities Up to two awards of $20,000 each Third-year students with junior standing (graduating in May/August 2015) whose coursework and future plans clearly reflects a passion for and commitment to the humanities. Students must be nominated by their departments for this competition. Students obtain application materials from Director of Undergraduate Studies in their home (humanities) department.
Sally Kissinger Wilt Merit Scholarship One award of $500; renewable annually for up to 3 years (subject to meeting renewal criteria and availability of funds) Current full-time freshmen who were directly admitted to the College in fall 2013. Minimum 3.700 CGPA. Preference given to students from single-parent families and applicants with financial need. Eligible students received information and application materials. Deadline: 4:00 p.m. on Friday, February 28
*Senior Scholarship Competition approx. 20 scholarships; amounts vary, but awards are generally modest Competition for rising seniors (graduating May/August 2015) all majors/disciplines. Minimum College GPA of 3.700.
William G. Bray Memorial Scholarship Varies; usually 3-4 awards of $500-$1,000 Current IUB sophomores or juniors with minimum GPA of 3.750 who are College students with majors or minors in History or Political Science or Kelley School of Business students with a major or minor in Operations and Decision Technologies.
