Volunteer Opportunity: work with local elementary students as part of IU Biology’s Outreach Program.
The I.U. Biology Outreach Program is looking for undergraduates to share their knowledge and love of biology with small groups of enthusiastic kindergartners and third graders. This semester, we plan to bring biology lessons to 9 third grade classrooms and 8 kindergarten classrooms at schools throughout Bloomington. Each lesson involves hands-on explorations of biology using materials that we bring to the schools. No specific experience is necessary , as we will provide you with lesson plans and background information ahead of time.
Including transportation and set-up, classroom visits typically take 2.5-3 hours, and we ask volunteers to commit to visiting their classroom 5 times over the course of the semester .
If interested, please contact Peggy Schultz (email@example.com), the Director of IU Biology Outreach, ASAP for more information about the program and the times and dates for which we need volunteers this semester.
IU Biology Outreach is looking for people interested in working with kindergarteners and 3rd graders in their classrooms at MCCSC elementary schools in Bloomington. Continue reading “Volunteers needed for Biology outreach in kindergarten and 3rd-grade classrooms”
