Service trip to Guatemala

Play360’s (www.play360.org) Alternative Spring Break and Summer Service Learning program offer students a unique opportunity to apply their studies outside the classroom.  Play360 is currently offering a nine-day Alternative Spring Break and Summer Service Learning program ideal for students interested in an authentic international service project.  Working alongside community members, parents, and teachers, program participants will build an educational playspace for a local school.

Play360’s primary service site for its 2015 programs will be near Quetzaltenango, Guatemala. During the first four to five days, program participants will construct the playground. After the playground’s completion and dedication, program participants will listen to guest lectures, zip line in the rain forest, visit a coffee plantation, and climb a volcano.

Each trip is led by Play360’s executive director with local support by partner, FUNDAP, one of the largest non-profit organizations in western Guatemala. FUNDAP staff facilitate all logistics so that the program experience is both safe and seamless. To allow for individual attention, Play360 programs have a maximum of 20 participants.
