2015 Summer Health Justice Internships

Our NHI summer internships give a chance for students to work in Indigenous communities of NM/AZ on community health projects. Focus is on community-driven, sustainable projects and interns are assigned to projects based on their interests and abilities. 2015 Indigenous Health Leadership Institute

April 10-12th (Fri-Sun), 2015 in Albuquerque, NM

This three-day immersion into Indigenous culture and health brings together healers and healers-in-training from across the United States. Speakers will include Tribal leaders, traditional healers, youth and elders, with topics ranging from historical trauma, intersection of traditional and Western medicine, and skill-building workshops (community asset mapping, cultural humility). Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT)

MLT is an 18 month career development fellowship for underrepresented students in any major. It includes four free trips to skill development seminars all over the US (travel and accommodation included), individualized and personal career development coaching, an alumni base of over 4000 professionals, and exposure to over 60 prestigious companies. Cafe Con Leche: Stress/Anxiety Series

 

January 29; 6-7:30pm at La Casa (find me in the sun room)

A four part series will be offered this semester focusing on different aspects of stress and anxiety. Through this series you will have the opportunity to recognize what may be going on for you, what stress/anxiety may look like and how it make affect people, what it looks like in various relationships, and coping skills. Each session will focus on a different aspect and you will have the opportunity to learn and share. There will also be counselors available for anyone who wants to speak with one after the session. Free coffee and snacks will be provided. Everyone who attends ALL four session will qualify for prizes. The first prize is a free massage!
