Recent graduates: Full-time research job with USDA to be posted soon

Attention: Biology majors who have graduated (and perhaps those who will graduate in December 2016?):

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS), Cell Wall Biology & Utilization Research Unit in Madison, Wisconsin, is seeking a full time Research Geneticist/ Biologist (Computational) for a permanent appointment. The incumbent in consultation with their supervisor will define specific job goals related to genomics and bioinformatics. Applies appropriate molecular technique, contemporary sequencing technologies and quality control procedure to generate reliable and accurate genomic data related to dairy animal performance and forage crop production. The incumbent must have a working knowledge of bioinformatics and must be able to apply bioinformatics tools to develop and customize pipelines for automation of data processing into meaningful summaries. Advanced computational skills, programming and analytical tool development are strongly preferred. Vacant research positions may be filled at one of two grade levels (GS 9/11) depending upon scientific impact of the selected person. Citizenship restrictions apply.
