Join our intro-level “expedition” science course, “Volcanoes of the Eastern Sierra Nevada“, taught jointly through the IU Department of Geological Sciences and Collins Living-Learning Center.
The class offers a hands-on, inquiry-oriented introduction to the geological and ecological setting of one of the most beautiful and environmentally diverse areas of the western U.S. It’s open to all IU students – no prerequisites! Fulfills N&M Gen Ed science requirement and available for Honors credit.
The course includes 1-cr seminar-style class during the second half of spring semester, followed by a 2-week field trip to the Sierras, May 9 – 23. Scholarships are available for Collins residents and prospective Geological or Environmental Sciences majors.
