Roots, Fruits and Resiliency

Travel to Jamaica to learn about cultural ecology, sustainable agriculture, eco-heritage tourism, park management, and permaculture design. During the program, we will visit small-scale farms, hike historic trails, explore a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and enjoy traditional Jamaican food and hospitality.

Food Cultures of Greece

Explore Greece culture from antiquity to the present through food! In the process, we will also learn about ourselves and the food cultures from which we come. The program includes trip to Santorini and the Peloponnese, as well as visits farmers’ markets, wineries, museums, olive oil producers, and food cooperatives.

International Climate Governance:  IU Delegation to the United Nation Framework Convention on Climate Change

Students will learn about climate issues and the Paris Agreement, and

travel to the United Nation Framework Convention on Climate Change 24th Conference of Parties in Poland!

Cindy Simon Skjodt Study Abroad Scholarship

For undergraduates in the College of Arts and Sciences who study overseas

This scholarship supports current, full-time College of Arts and Sciences undergraduates who participate in IU-approved, credit-bearing overseas study programs.

The overseas study program can be for a summer, a semester, or an academic year.

Award

Award amounts vary.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

  • Be pursuing a degree in the College of Arts and Sciences
  • Be officially enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student at the time you apply
  • Have a minimum College of Arts and Sciences GPA of 3.300 at the time you apply
  • Have been accepted to participate in an IU-approved, credit-bearing overseas study program

Preference

Preference is given to students who are majoring in telecommunications.

Butcher Scholarship

Butcher Scholarship

For current undergraduate students in the College of Arts + Sciences with significant academic accomplishment and demonstrate a financial need.

Award

The recipient will receive a $2000 award that is to be applied to their cost of attendance for the 2018 – 2019 academic year.

This scholarship is not renewable.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Butcher Scholarship, you must:

  • have full-time undergraduate status in the College of Arts and Sciences
  • have a current minimum cumulative GPA of 3.750
  • have a demonstrated financial need

Preference

Preference for this scholarship will be given to candidates that are working and female.

Application process and materials

To be considered for this scholarship, you must submit the following application materials by the deadline:

  • Application form
  • Resume (maximum two pages)
  • Two letters of recommendation from College of Arts and Sciences faculty members, including at least one faculty member in your area of concentration
  • Personal statement of 400 to 500 words

The recipient will receive an $800 award that is to be applied to their cost of attendance for the academic year.

Second Year Show – musical comedy written by second year medical students

Hi everyone,

I am a second year medical student and would like to invite you to our annual Second Year Show. This is a musical comedy written and produced entirely by MS2 students. For anyone interested medical school, it’s a wonderful way to see what to expect in the future! For anyone else, this is a funny show that you will be sure to enjoy! This year’s show is about Ashleigh, as she struggles to adjust to the stressful environment of medical school. I assure you this is an event you will not want to miss!

 

The show is this Friday 1/12 at 7pm at the Madame Walker Theatre in IndianapolisThere will be a preshow with food beginning at 5pm hosted by the Office of Diversity Affairs.
