Welcome, summer orientation students!

Welcome, IU summer orientation students!  The Biology advisors are glad you’ve found our site, and we hope you’ll come back often.

A few items to point out:

  • There is an RSS feed button at the top of this blog for those who would like to subscribe.  We highly recommend subscribing if you’re a Biology major, because this is where we post all important annoucements.
  •  Check out our FAQs (at the tabs at the top of the page) for general info about how our department functions.

We look forward to seeing you in the fall!

More volunteer opportunities!

This week’s BioMajors Newsbrief features two volunteer opportunities: one for the upcoming Genome conference held here at IUB, and the other for the July Family Night.

These are both great opportunities!

Call for Volunteers: Symposium on Mechanisms of Genome Evolution, 11 – 13 July, Whittenberger Room, IMU

The Symposium on Mechanics of Genome Evolution is looking for a couple of student volunteers who could help set up the projectors for the talks. This is a great opportunity for undergraduates interested in getting an insight into the latest research in this exciting field. The task of setting up the projectors should take a minimal amount of time, and the Symposium organizers will waive the registration fee for volunteers.

Here is more information about the symposium and how to volunteer.
