Developing Resilience and Self-care Strategies for Health and Wellness

Monday November 11, 2019 at 5:30-6:30 PM

Resilience has been highlighted as a formal competency for medical school, and wellness programs are being incorporated into curricula across graduate healthcare programs.

As a future caregiver, taking care of yourself is a skill you need to develop. In this workshop, Jennifer Yeoward from the IU Health Center Counseling and Psychological Services will offer information, resources, and tools that you can incorporate in your life to reduce your level of stress and anxiety and carry forward into your graduate education and career.

Join the IU Journal of Undergraduate Research (IUJUR) for our annual Research Day. Research Day provides the opportunity for undergraduate students to engage in a variety of research related workshops, network with researchers and professionals, and learn how to get involved in research. If you’re interested in graduate school, medical school, or the job force, this event will prove valuable, as research is an integral part of all of these career paths. This event benefits undergraduate researchers of all levels and all disciplines to develop as scholars, network with similarly-minded students, gain insight from research professionals, enhance a variety of research-based skills, and more!

Paying for Professional School

The money is there to pay for professional school.

David Owen, former director of Admissions and Financial Aid at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, will talk about how one pays for professional school.  He will go over the common sources for funding professional school—loans, scholarships repayment and loan forgiveness programs—and things to be considering when you apply for financial aid for professional school. Also, Lt. Carolyn Holman will talk about the Navy Health Professions Scholarship Program. This is a great way to graduate from professional school debt free!
